FeVer gets dumped out of Miami by #69 Pablo Andujar in three sets 36 76(3) 64. At least this means he has more time to hit South Beach and ask about this whole 69 business. Someone draw him a diagram.
Fer and Moose weren't the only seeds to fall on Friday. While the WTA's seeds pretty much held up, the ATP took a beating. Milos, Stan, GGL, and Belucci all lost, with Milos running up against both the heat and an inspired Somdev, and Stan going down, quite surprisingly, to Granolla Bars, taking a bagel on the way. Boy, that run at the Australian Open is looking flukier and flukier as the weeks roll on.
I suspect normalcy will be restored today on the ATP side. But the WTA could shed some blood with Sveta drawing the red-hot Peng, and Sam pulling a lefty, flat-hitting Czech in Lucie.
We gonna see.
