Another comprehensive win for Masha over Sam (64 61), upping her career H2H to 7-0. The key to the match was Masha's return of serve. She did a great job negating the effectiveness of the kicker and getting into Sam's head. Not that that second part is all that hard. #wahwah
It seems pretty obvious that Sam just doesn't match up well with tall heavy-hitters. Make them blonde and it's just straight up Corgi Cryptonite. A bit disappointing that Sam couldn't put up much of a fight in the second set. Sure, Masha was en fuego but it just felt like Sam already threw in the towel mentally. There's a kid with no confidence right now. I'm hoping the magic fairy dust of clay will miraculously change things. I'm not all that hopeful.
Go get it, Masha. She's got Dulgheru in the quarters (yes, she beat Peng) and then either Petko or JJ. I know I should root for Petko in that match, but I wouldn't mind a little Bollitieri's Revertigo. Masha/JJ matches RULE.
