Another heartbreaker for the Can't-Close Kid. After dropping the first set 61 to Woz, both players would trade holds (I KNOW!) through the one hour and 24 minute second set. Then WTA ish came raining down on Stadium court.
Dani had three set points and, by all accounts, choked them. Then serving match point down, she double faulted. GSM, Danish Cockroach. I mean...oh, Daniela.
Going through my Twitter timeline it sounded like a nutty match, entertaining for all the wrong reasons. My favorite quote has to be Lindsay Davenport's, who said something to the effect of "the #1 player in the world just served a 73 mph first serve on match point." HEEEEEE.
So if you saw the match I'd love to hear your take in the comments. I fell asleep in the middle of the second. You can't blame me. It was Woz!
It'll be Woz vs. Petko next. Petko absolutely destroyed Iveta, dropping a bagel in the first and jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the second before Iveta fought back to get on serve. But Petko kept it badass and finally shut the door.
