With pretty much everyone injured, the Hopman Cup organizers decided to put on the US vs. France for a mixed doubles set. I was actually standing on the train platform ready to leave when I got a tip (thanks, Laura) that I should probably get my ass back to the Dome to watch it.
Thank goodness I did. It was, hands down, the most entertaining set of tennis I've seen live. I mean, when a dude comes out in drag, you know you're in for a good time:

It was just a laugh-filled entertaining exo with Nico and Bethanie leading the charge. Nico was jumping nets, hitting trick shots (two tweeners in one point), and just encouraging everyone to act a fool. As for Bethanie, she was jumping into the crowd, grabbing a seat for a massage from a fan, playing points with a wine bottle in her hand, and just running around and laughing. Even John got into it, goosing Nico and giving him a full on boob squeeze at the net. It was just joyous.
I have some video that may take some time to upload, but I really hope this exo finds its way on the internet soon. Would hate to think only a few thousand people in the world got to witness it.
