Andy mentioned that he would be practicing with Nole today at 1pm, so with a bit of sleuthing (thanks, Alex!) I found out that they weren't practicing at the Burswood Dome but at the State Tennis Centre, 3/4 of a mile up the road. So I did the walk under the midday sun (which oddly felt like a walk of shame but in reverse) to see my two boys futz about on a tennis court.
After almost getting run over by Robbie's driver (not really, I exaggerate), I walked up to see my boys already sweaty and chatting about life, love, and other mysteries (read: soccer). They had a light hit (Isner was practicing with Mahut one court over) and then called it a day.
But not before kindly stopping to take some pictures with fans. Really cool of both of them. The only thing that stopped me from hopping in there was the fact that I unintentionally wore a t-shirt with hearts and arrows on it.
Well, that and my self-respect. Equally. I think.
