As expected, Nole took care of business against Tomas. So the story of the day was Rafa's three-set come from behind win over a valiant RAndy. Taking the court for the first time in five weeks, it sounds like Rafa was about as sharp as his oddly-muddled technicolor kit. I haven't seen the match yet, but A-Rod said that once Rafa found his range on his forehand in the second set, the match completely changed.
The win should give Rafa quite a bit of confidence going into his Wednesday night clash with Novak. This is his first win at the O2 arena:
“I can play with a little bit more calm the next match. But even if I lose the next match, I’m still going to have chances to be in the semis. So that's relaxing me a little bit more. Is very positive victory for me and very, very important.”
Rafa's now 69-9 for the year. Pathetic excuse for a tennis player.
