You and me both, ladies.
It wasn't a particularly pleasant match to watch and I actually fell asleep when Caro was up 3-0 in the third set. But what I did see wasn't great. Caro was hitting a surprising number of UFEs and Vika clearly wasn't at her best. There was screaming (by both), there was racquet throwing (by both), and there was a fit of woozy coughing (oh, that's all Vika). Caro found herself up 5-0 in the third before, somehow, Vika came back and Caro had to fight her nerve to finally win 6-4. To those who watched the match, was that Caro getting nervous? Or did Vika go all lights out all of a sudden?
Anyway, Caro is into the final to play Lena, who played a really high quality match against Frank. Now that was some good tennis to watch. Nice to see Lena do well after what happened at USO. She's still in the running for a spot at Doha, and it'd be really weird if she didn't make it.
I'm not sure how much Caro has left in her tank after today's match but she's certainly got some motivation: If she wins Tokyo and makes the last eight in Beijing, she'll take over the top spot.
The haterade? It be brewin'...
