Dani scored a solid win last night, coming back to beat Mono in three, 36 76(3) 64. After dropping the first set to an in-form Mono, Dani found her groove midway through the second, saving two match points by returning well and cleaning the lines with her forehand. Mono's form would dip in the third, as she started throwing in doubles and hitting long, but she couldn't capitalize on Dani's stereotypical hiccups in the third and Dani, after being broken while she served for the set, would break back for the win.
Throughout her third set slump Mono kept looking over her shoulder at her Dad. It was really creepy.
I am fully on-board this Dani winning train if for no other reason than this:
This is Dani's new coach.
I like seeing him around. I'm deep like that.
