Masha was all giggles and trashtalk during her practice session under the lights, which I totally called earlier in the day (she's playing a night match on Tuesday, figured she'd want to practice at night).
Imagine my surprise when I settled down into my seat and saw this familiar face. I almost didn't recognize him without his mandals. I see how it is Scotty, you're all about the mandals when you're training Ana but now that you've graduated to Masha you're all sleek and professional and shit.
Kidding. It was cool to see him.
Anywho, Masha practiced her serve and returns for a bit and then played a mini-game with Mike, who was rocking a pretty sexy back brace. What can I say? I like my men stiff.
The game involved one person at the net, the other at the baseline, no drop shots on the first volley, first to 12, and then switch. It was pretty fun to watch, mainly for the comedy that is Maria at the net:
And the trashtalking:
"Maria, the ball was THIS FAR OUT!"
"I hate losing to you."
"You're a little too competitive. Relax."
"Quit stalling, you're exhausted. Let's go."
"She cheats!"
"He's getting anxious..."
"It's the backbrace."
"You pulled that out of thin air."
"So much for covering the line."
"Covering the line, you weren't even covering the angle."
And the general giggles:
