A 64 62 64 devastating sleeper hold of a statement. Rafa just suffocated Sod with his dizzying and at times, impossible looking defense, that saw Sod having to hit 3-5 winners just to win a point (if he'd win it at all). The pressure clearly got to Sod as the match wore on, the toll of the tournament took out his legs, and with all of that, his mind. The dude just couldn't go toe-to-toe with Rafa for three sets. Just like Franny, he saved his best for last.
I'll be back with more later. But congrats to Sod for a great tournament and congrats to Rafa on an incredible run. He wins three straight Masters on clay, wins his 5th RG without dropping a set, avenges his loss over Sod, and reclaims the #1 ranking at a time when he can only gain points from here on out. Amazing stuff.
