Serena's back and had to save some set points in the first to eventually take out Timea in straight sets. Drew Lilly noted the wet and heavy conditions and picking Timea to come out on top. Can't fault the guy for the logic. But Serena marches on.
I feel weird actually rooting for Serena to win Rome so everyone will just shut up about Justine being the RG favorite. But I'm sure Serena won't even let me have that. She's totally out to get me like that.
Meanwhile, big sister continued her rather remarkable 2010 campaign. Seriously, stop and think about Venus' results this year. Not bad for an old lady, no? And, if you're one of those people who likes "stats" and whatever, Venus has a chance at the #2 ranking here in Rome. Whu? Yeah, you heard me.
All this is to say, there's some merit in tracking what the Sisters do here in Rome. Honestly, I tend to ignore them. Not this time.
