To me, the title was a bonus. Fernando was finally able to show that he can beat a top 10 player. The last time that seemed to have happened was when he kicked off his career surge by beating Muzz at AO 09. In fact, he came into this match with a 15 match losing streak against Top 10ers. But there would be no TED this time. Dude came back from a set down to beat A-Rod in a tight three setter to claim his fourth career title, 36 64 64.
