Pretty much the same story in both matches. Justine and Jay-Z played really well and Makiri and Nads just couldn't raise their level to match. For her part, Makiri looked worn out. She's had a busy AO, playing singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. She had to call for the trainer a few times but in the end she said it didn't effect the outcome. Zheng was able to run down everything and really force Maria to hit 2-4 winners just to get a point. She also served pretty big (well, for her), which was somewhat surprising.
But a tip of the cap to Maria. What a run here. She's still in the running with Agi in doubles.

As for Nads, well, yeah. She hung in there with Justine and made her earn it, that's for sure. But she just couldn't overcome here when it mattered. But again, tip of the cap and it was nice to hear commentators talking to her again.
