I've made my feelings for Lena known so I won't go through it all again. But congrats to her for seizing the opportunity to bag her third title of the year in Toronto by beating Masha. A serveless Masha is a breakable Masha, which will be her downfall at the USO. But not before she wreaks some havoc through the quarters. If she gets a favorable draw and the top seed fall early, she has a legitimate shot at the USO title.
And congrats to TMF, who withstood a challenge from Nole in the second set to take his first Masters title of the season in straight sets. I think Nole comes out of this tournament with some momentum, as he has to believe that he can beat Rafa in NYC and he can give Fed a run for his money. The question for me is whether he believes he can beat either of the Andys, which is going to be more of an issue considering he can't be in Rafa's half at the Open. But a run to the semis would do the kid some good.
As for Fed, he won, he was phenomenal, and in his two matches against Andy and Nole he didn't collapse when the pressure was on late in the second set. He looks confident and and calm and is playing with clarity. So that's AWESOME.
