Oh, Nole. You kill me. Just when I'm ready to write you off you play a match like this and you give me hope again. Hope that will last at least for another 12 hours until you get your ass handed to you by Fed. But hope nonetheless.
Really nice match from the Forgotten Falcon today. Perfectly executed game plan. And what gave me hope in particular was his ability to step up during key points and hit the ball confidently and dictate play. That hasn't been the norm over these past few months, when Nole seemed to get too conservative during key moments. Please, Falcon. Take this play into NYC.
As for Rafa, his hardcourt season played out better than I would have expected. He got a good number of matches under his belt, scored some solid wins, and engaged in some pretty tough competitive battles. So all is good in Rafa world.
Unless it isn't. Towards the end of the match it looked like Rafa tweaked something. Possibly an abdominal problem. Hopefully whatever it is heals in time for NYC. The healthier the Rafa, the better.
