Nice to see that France is just as stupidly litigious as the States.
"Pamela" is suing Ricky for libel/defamation, claiming that she never kissed Rick on the mouth and never took coke or said anything that Rick said she said.
And I think Google has taken sides. Check out the Google Translator version of the story:
MYB : "Pamela D. says she has embraced Mr. Gasquet only once and it was not a long kiss. Given the large number of witnesses to this event, if there had a dozen of 'good galoshes' as claimed by Mr Richard Gasquet, it seems surprising that nobody has reported. "
...
AD: Why has your client decided to complain after the verdict of the Tribunal anti-doping?
MYB : "My client had an elegance not to interfere in the disciplinary aspect of this case. It was therefore expected that the Tribunal's decision. However, the remarks that were made by Mr. Gasquet through press About Pamela D. serious damage to the latter, it had to act. Now, whenever a claim is misleading or uttered a threat to privacy will be brought against my client A complaint will be filed as soon as possible. I believe that my client was a tool in this case. "
Well I think we can all agree on that last part. Whatever. If she really wanted to clear her name she would have stepped up earlier and agreed to testify at the ITF hearing. Only now is she complaining. It makes no sense. The reports about her being all coked up hit the press way before the ITF hearing. She can't claim that ONLY NOW, after the ITF has ruled and the decision was made public, has she been defamed.
Smells like a shakedown and it'll probably work. If I were Rick's attorney I'd advise him to pay her and move on.
