Annnnnnd... it all ends here.
Yeah, I'm a Fed fan. I have a Federbear. I'm not going to pretend that I'm not thrilled for Roger finally putting his RG ghosts to rest, shutting up all the GOAT speculation (at least as far as Pete Sampras goes), not losing it after that jackass rushed him on the court (seriously, WTF?) and closing out the career Grand Slam. YAY ROGER. And no, I don't think it's that important that he didn't have to play Rafa in the final. If Dinara had won yesterday and she'd double bageled Urszula Radwanska to do it, I would not have given a shit about the opponent. Sometimes you just need the win.
Also, I had kind of a Sod moment. When he said that he and his coach had been "yoking" about how many times he's lost to Roger, I totally lost it. "Yoking", you guys. For real.
But ohmigod, am I the only one who feels like RG's been going on for at least a month? I'm exhausted. I don't know if I'm ready for another Slam in 3 weeks. I don't know if I'm ready for another Slam, ever, period. I'd be perfectly happy to skip from Eastbourne to Stanford. Let's go with that.
So congrats to the champions: Roger, Sveta, love you both. On a personal note, it's been a kick writing for you guys, so thanks for putting up with the sub and playing nice. I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
