If I had to guess I'd say it's going to be a Fer/Rafa final. The Kolya/Stan quarter has the potential to be a bit of a blood bath. Fer's half isn't too rough and he played some solid clay court tennis last week. And though Daveed made the finals here last year and showed some signs of life last week, I'm sticking to my "I'm never buying Lord Farquaad stock again" policy.
Apart from some potentially fun matchups it's hard to get up for this tournament on the heels of the very high quality play in Monte Carlo. But I suppose it'll provide some good information for handiapping the field at RG. I still don't really know how a lot of the #15-60 rate on clay. That said, I'm not going to lose any sleep to find out.
Here's hoping that the tournament gives us some fun pictures again though. Last year was a bit of a HoYay! boondoggle:
