It'll be kids in the finals of Charleston as they both took out the wily and unpredictable veterans. For Caro, she'll be heading to her second straight WTA final, beating Lena in three tough sets, 64 57 75. Haven't seen the match but all credit to the kid for keeping her nerve after dropping that second set. One thing that has always endeared me to Woz is her positive attitude and fighting spirit. She might get beat but she never just goes away.
But the story of the tourney is Sabine Lisicki's run to the final. She's beaten Venus, Mono, and Vezzie on her way and she's done it all in fairly convincing form. She beat Mono in straight sets, 63 61. Is it pretty much a given these days that Mono might have some big wins in the early part of a tournament but she's guaranteed to fade towards the end?
Anyway, nice runs for both. I'm looking forward to the final, though I'm fairly confident Boots will pick up her second straight title in two weeks. Looks like the work at the Bunny Ranch is finally kicking in. Who knows, maybe she'll have take a Vika-like tear through the clay season.
Without the fucked up attitude, of course.
