It's pretty amazing to try and solve the Curious Case of JJ. Obviously I've tried, with mixed results. But when I think about her current situation and her wacky two years I'm left wondering one basic question: Was it all a fluke? Or is she really that good? (OK, two questions, I guess).
She didn't play horribly against Latisha (the nickname is on a test run). This wasn't a Bartoli situation. She played fine. She just didn't play better than that. I'm guess I I left that match wondering if she had a one year hot streak, or whether she's now going through a cold spell. I honestly don't know.

Why is everyone on the WTA tour so depressed lately? Dinara with no friends, JJ with no game, Lena with no motivation, Ana...yeah, I got nothin'. But really, someone call Dr. Melfi. This is getting out of control.
