Larry Scott on his decision to leave the WTA for the Pac-10:
...
If a merger between the ATP and the WTA had been possible, he said, “We wouldn’t be having this conversation.”
So pretty much everyone from the outside looking in thinks the two tours need to merge. I say we get Bepa on the case. First order of business, dispatch Marat to Mallorca to distract Xisca. Second, once Rafa realized he's lost her forever to the indisputable awesomeness that is Marat, Bepa needs to arrange a nice little promo at RG for Rafa and Ana. They both need to win the tournament and then confess their undying love for each other and make out on the red clay (or just hold hands...whatever those kids would do). With this new supercouple formed, Larry can come back and basically say, "Look. See how the two tours can live in harmony? This is the future. Let's do this." And the tours would merge. Foolproof. Absolutely foolproof.
