Uh...I don't even know what to say to this:
Sharapova for her size and consideration as a female never struck me as
having a particularly powerful set of shoulders. But I've said before
she has the best-looking shoulders in the women's game, but they may
not necessarily be the most effectively functioning ones. You look at
the woman and wonder like I do, how much weight training does she
really do? Her muscles have a rather unsculpted look about them.
Here Sharapova's shoulder woes may have butted up against the Sharapova media image. She's always been a PR dream of a girl who lays claim to fame based on her being a jock, yet she conveniently does not come with the usual accoutrements of a jock; she's nubile and minus the large muscles. You would scarcely think she was other than a tall attractive girl, like a model. Never a jock. Her muscles don't quite move her body around like a jock's off the court, and to some extent her movement on the court too. But that's the point though about Sharapova, the madmen-admen wanted a girl who was allegedly a jock, without the necessity of really being one, when all is said and done. She has a physical shapeliness, but she barely seems muscular at all. She has never struck me as a jock in the sense that we know Martina Navratilova to be a jock, or that ultra ultra uber-fraulein, Steffi Graf was a jock. This renders her much more marketable, I think, in those ad-men's eyes, and doesn't get in the way of their marketing the life out of her for the next decade or so.

Is she REALLY implying that Pova never put the work in to get stronger and thereby, more buff, because then she'd be less marketable? I mean...REALLY?
That's just pure idiocy. We're talking about one of the elite elite athletes in the world. Someone who is recognized as being the most competitive woman on the tour. And you're saying that she's so darn competitive and she'll do anything and everything to win...except look ugly? Come on.
