The Muzz continued his curious ownage of Fed, beating him in Abu Dhabi today 46 62 76(6). At least it was a close one, though I'm not sure how much consolation that is.
As for Fed, he was in exhibition mode for most of the match, so you can't put too much stock in to this. And after the match, Fed was in full "managing the monster" mode:
"I have realised that I will win some and lose some," he said. "As long
as I enjoy the game, I don't mind the losses. But I surely want to win
the big games. I am not going to chase titles or records as badly as I
was last year."
I get what he's saying, but I have the sense that for Fed (and most elite elite athletes), enjoying the game is pretty much antithetical to losing.
