Team Pain kicked things off yesterday, beating Taipei 3-0 in a surprisingly close tie. Gilly and The Cone (great band name btw) were definitely rusty, with Gilly missing an inordinate number of easy overhead smashes, and they'll have to tighten things up in the next rounds.
Oh, and The Cone has either been hitting the gym or the buffet over the off-season. I honestly can't tell so I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and go with the gym. Either way, she's bulked up. As you can tell from the pictures above, Gilly did not.
