It feels like it's been so long since I've done Draw summaries and OOPs. It's going to take me a while to get into rhythm.
That said, here are the women's draw and the men's draw for Brisbane.
Ladies Draw Breakdown:
In my opinion, Baby Koala's half has the more dangerous players, while Vika's draw has the more solid but predictable players. Baby K opens up against the hard hitting Petra Kvitova, who she beat in three sets in Montreal in 08. She then could play AiRon Woman, Jelena Dokic or Momo, and then Mono Bartoli. To me that's a tough draw only because you never know what you're going to get from any of those players.
On the other side, Vika is the top seed and she has Dani, MaKiri, and Schiavone. How weird is it to think that Vika is the #2 ranked player in this draw. It'll be interesting to see how she deals with that.
Men's Draw Breakdown:
As for the boys, it's sucks to be in the top half. Nole opens up against his streaky good buddy Ernests. That's rough. In addition, Super Mario, Big Byrd, Fernando, and Special K are in his half. The bottom half, where Jo is the #2 seed, is way weak. The toughest guys in that half: Radek, Reeeeeshard, The Evil One, and Baggy. That is a completely unbalanced draw.
It's so hard to predict the early tourneys seeing as how you have no idea of each players' quality. I'm still going to say the Serbs are going to take it. But it ain't gonna be without some nail biting moments.
