Brother Marat and Sister Safina continued their march in Moscow, both beating compatriots along the way. Marat needed three sets to dispatch defending champion Kolya, 76(5) 46 64, and Dinara continued her four match winning streak against Sveta, 64 75. Marat will face Zverev and Dinara will play Bepa.
With the win, Dinara assures herself the #2 spot, which she will take over from Serena on Monday. The other semifinal will see JJ vs. Lena. Wouldn't it be just like JJ to walk away with this title while being the only non-Russian in the semis? The girl sure does love a storyline. Maybe we'll get pics of her doing vodka shots and that will spawn a random thread about ATP/WTA frat parties.
As for the rest of the boys, Marat is the clear favorite as all the remaining seeds are out. The Magician will magically appear in the semis, benefiting from PHM's retirement.
