Tennis.com summarizes what each player has to do to qualify for Shanghai. Rafa, Nole, Fed, and Muzzah have already qualified. Looking good are Kolya and A-Rod. That leaves two more spots open and a number of players have a shot: Daveed, James, JMDP, Stan, Gonzo, and an outside chance for Gilly and Jo. I'd love to see JMDP and Gilly take the last two slots, only because I feel like that would be such a well-rounded final eight. But I have a feeling that it will be JMDP and Daveed, even though Ferrer hasn't looked great as of late. I hope and pray Jo can do it, but I just don't think his body is stong enough right how to carry him through so many tournaments.
But boy, how fun would it be if it was JMDP and Jo in the final two spots.
