The Cone bit it hard against Momo today, losing in three sets, 67(3) 63 64. A very nice win for Momes. I think this post-clay season has been a humbling one for The Cone, but that's a good thing. The kid had to realize she has a lot of work to do, namely, learn to hit the ball a bit flatter and work on her serve.
I will say this about Alize. She always looks great on court. She
rocks that Lacoste well and I feel like she's wearing something
different all the time. Classy, young, and elegant.
As for the remaining Ladies Singles matches, Mono retired in the second set at 61 41 against Domi with a left toe injury. And Nikki V. fell to hometown girl Vera Dushevina in three sets, 61 36 63. Future talent indeed.
As for the boys, Fabrice lives on! He beat Shukin in three. And Jeremy Chardy ousted Potato Starch, 36 61 64. Spicoli is also through with his opponent retiring with an ankle injury.
Incidentally, does anyone know if Potato is dating Flava Flav? Sure seemed cozy in those player pics....
