I actually watched this match on livestream and boy, Kuz is a very lucky woman. She deserves no champagne for this win but I'm pretty sure she doesn't care.
Kata got an early break in the first set and then let Kuz back in and forcing a tiebreaker. Kata again rushed out to a 40 lead and then inexplicably let Kuz back in to lose the tiebreak 75. Kuz didn't play particularly well. Her movement looked a step slow, her serve was shaky, and her shot selection at times was questionable.
But who cares? She's into her second final of the year and builds some momentum heading into the end of the year. She hasn't qualified for the YECs but I think that's just a matter of time.
