"Rafa is not any more 18 years old," said Mr. Costa, invoking his client's nickname. "He's not any more a kid."
Brand experts were less than convinced.
"If he was pushing 40, maybe I could understand it, but Madonna is pushing 60 and you don't see her wearing Chanel suits," said William Arruda, president of Reach Personal Branding in New York. "I think if he were to do it, it would be a big loss for his brand, because his trademark is that he wears these tank tops and the Capri-style trousers."
Are we going to have to start calling him "Rafael" now because he's an adult? Please.
