It had been reported by the commentators at USA but it's finally been confirmed. Andy Roddick has formally ended his coaching relationship with brother John. For the US Open he'll be advised by Patrick McEnroe, which I think is a good match because he's worked with him for Davis Cup and (hopefully) Andy already trusts him.
I know they say their split is amicable, but that's gotta be an awkward conversation to have. And why make the change right before the US Open? If there's anything that seems to be consistent among athletes, it's that they like routine and they like stability. Was the relationship so sour that they couldn't keep it together for another three weeks?
