Baby Williams injured her knee today and had to retire from at 26 13 in her match against Alexandra Wozniak. Maybe coming back from Wimbly and playing World Team Tennis immediately wasn't the best idea. When will these girls learn how to manage their schedules?
I presume this means that Serena will, like her sister, withdraw from LA. She wasn't scheduled to play Montreal so that means she would have no more tournament play before Beijing. The other question is whether, depending on the severity of the injury, Serena should skip Beijing altogether in order to focus on the US Open. She seems hell bent on winning a Slam this year so I wouldn't be shocked if she pulled a Roddick.
