The draw for next week's Rogers Cup in Montreal Toronto was released today. You can download it here. All the big boys will be there so it's going to be a fun one.
Here's my instant analysis:
Fed's Quarter: A fairly dangerous draw, with Fernando Gonzalez and Andy Roddick as potential matchups. Another fun potential matchup: Tipsarevic vs. Roddick in the second round if Tipsy can get past Mahut. Don't choke, Andy.
Kolya's Quarter: Seriously? This guy is still #4? Augh. In his quarter: Moya, Haas, Radek, Youzhny, Tursonov, and James Blake. So basically there's nothing all that interesting in this quarter and I'm not really going to pay attention to it.
Nole's Quarter: This is where the fun is. A potential Nole/Murray quarterfinal matchup. Others in this quarter: Marat, Querrey, Wawrinka, Belucci, and Ancic. A tantalizing potential second round match between Nole and Ancic is on the menu, as is a third rounder between Murray and Marat.
Rafa's Quarter: Some tricky matchups. In his quarter: Ferrer, Gasquet, Mathieu, Berdych, Monfils, and Baghdatis. Rafa could play Baggy in the second round and that should be a great match depending on Baggy's fitness. [Baggy withdrew on Sunday.]
