Anyone who knows me knows I am not a Fed fan. "How can you NOT be a Fed fan?" Well to be honest I found his absolute domination of tennis to be boring. But more importantly, I like fighters. I like grinders. I like to see the will and desire to win on players' faces. That's why I love Ana, Maria, Rafa, Nole, and am not huge fans of Fed, Jelena, and Venus.
Up until Sunday, I had never seen that desire on Fed's face. Sure, his five setter against Rafa at last year's Wimbledon was epic, but that match was more Rafa choking than Fed taking the win. But watching the match on Sunday, I finally saw it. You saw him grinding, clawing, doing anything possible for each point. I finally saw the struggle in him, the fight. And to be honest, I loved that he cried like a little baby after he lost.
So I tip my cap to you, Roger. I'm not saying I'm a fan, but at least you don't bug the crap out of me anymore. And I know you were totally losing sleep over that.
